My mother, Jerry MacDonnell, worked with Armon for several years at Arapahoe HS. He was also my AP when I attended Arapahoe. I also taught in PSD and encountered Armon several times over my career. He was a very special man! My mom had such fond memories of him and often said he was one of kindest people she'd ever known. Honor, integrity, kindness, and humility are all words that come to mind when thinking of him. The world lost a true angle on earth with his passing. I am so sorry for the loss his family is experiencing. His legacy will live on through his family and the people he touched both professionally and personally. Wishing you peace and blessings.

My mom, Jerry MacDonnell, worked with Armon at Arapahoe HS. He was also my AP when I attended Arapahoe. I ended up teaching in PSD and encountered Armon several times throughout my career. He was a very special man. My mom mentioned more than once that he was one of the kindest people she'd ever encountered. Honor, integrity, kindness, and humility are words I will always associate with him. The world lost an angel on earth with his passing. I can only imagine your sense of loss. His legacy will live on in his family and the many lives he touched professionally and personally. Blessings to each of you.

I had Mr. Johannsen for 8th grade math at Grant Jr. High. He was such a good teacher and never got impatient if a student asked him to explain something in a different way. He was one of the greats.

Armon hired me to teach German at FCHS. He made a huge impact upon me and gave me confidence. His leadership was remarkable and we stayed in touch after I started my real estate career. I have to say, he was one of two supervisors who helped me on my path with brilliance, kindness and inspiration. He will be missed.

Armon was the best principal I ever worked with during my 34 year career in education. He was a devoted friend, ideal role model, ambitious leader, and caring mentor for staff and students alike. His intellect, integrity, and concern for those around him were an amazing formula for success. One of my former FCHS colleagues summed it up well during a recent visit with Armon"I've never worked harder for anyone and enjoyed it more!" I know he left our world a better place with his love, sincerity, positive energy, and enlightened leadership, not to mention his great sense of humor. He was one of a kind, a true "Renaissance man". Rest in peace, o' weary champion.

I was doubly fortunate to know Armon both as a counselor and as a principal. I attended Arapahoe High School from 1965-68 and he was my counselor and advised me through the process of choosing a university, applying, and searching for scholarships. Then in 1973, I discovered he was the principal of Fort Collins High when I applied there for a teaching position. I was 22 years old and had much to learn about being an effective teacher, and Armon was a knowledgeable mentor for me. I spent the first two years being intimidated by his stern demeanor and no-nonsense demand for excellence in providing fifty-five minutes of high-powered instruction in every class. I still remember some of Armons exact words to me during classroom evaluations and performance reviews, and I became a better professional by following them. He wrote me an excellent recommendation letter when I moved into a different field of instruction. After he retired, I sometimes encountered him in the community, and he remembered me by name and always seemed genuinely happy to visit.I taught in PSD for all of my 25-year career, and I credit his influence for my professionalism. I never once entered my classroom unprepared, and my ingrained habit of providing a variety of instructional methods with no lag time was invaluable when Rocky Mountain High School initiated variable scheduling with 90-minute class periods during the time I taught there. I owe much of whatever success I may have had as an educator to this skilled and insightful man.

There are hundreds and hundreds, no, thousands and thousands of Lambkins in this world who learned so much from and deeply respected this man. His moment by moment example of honor, integrity, kindness, and service will be felt in the lives of all he touched for generations. I am so grateful to be one of them. Rest well, Mr. Johannsen. You are loved, and will always be remembered.

Armonk was a caring man, yet could be tough and intimidating when necessary. He fought a long hard battle with various medical issues, but was always smiling and cheerful. I have the utmost admiration for that man; rest in peace.

I was fortunate to be Armon's secretary for one year before returning to complete my college degree (at his encouragement, by the way). He was an amazing boss, encouraging, positive and terrific with the students. He was a true leader and someone I have never forgotten.
