Obituary of Helen Rodriguez

Obituary Helen (Castellanos) Rodriguez Called by Her Maker Helen was born on September 14, 1930 in Wellington, Colorado to Aurelia Gurule Castellanos and Jose Mata Castellanos. Helen graduated from Fort Collins High School 1949. She then attended classes at CSU including typing and shorthand. Helen and Guadalupe were married on June 7, 1953. Helen retired from public service company (Excel Energy) in 1995. Helen was a lifetime member of the local Latin American Council of Christian Churches. She was the Secretary for the church for approximately sixty years. She taught her children to get an education and work for what they wanted or needed. “No one is going to give it to you.” She enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed going to church conventions. And if she had to, she would take the bus. She met a lot of new friends. Her favorite thing to do was go visit relatives and friends in Texas. Helen was a big Bronco Fan! Survivors include, Yolanda Rodriguez, Michael (Susan) Rodriguez, Rebecca (Randy) Vinton, of Greeley, Thomas Rodriguez, she is also survived by eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, Sister in law; Bennie Castellanos of Denver, Colorado and many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by husband, Guadalupe and son; Theodore “Ted”, Brothers; Joe (Nora) Castellanos, and John Castellanos.
