I first met Claire at the City of Fort Collins. She was lovely, caring and devoted to her work and team members. Later I met her daughter Kay, and Claire involved Kay and her friends in her activities at church. It was only fitting that Kay became part of the city in the City Manager's office with our team.I wish the family peace and love

Once in awhile I check the Daily Sentinel and today the name Claire Manning caught my eye. We lived next door to the Mannings on Blinkman street. I have fond memories of the upstairs playroom which was a wonderland of fun. Also, playing board games around the kitchen table. Claire was kind to me during that time. I am sorry for your loss and thankful for her kindness to a 7 year old girl next door.

You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved mother. Your loss must be especially difficult, as moms are one of the greatest comforts and joys in our lives. Claire was such a warm and loving woman and also a treasured friend of my mothers. My mothers life was much richer for having known her. Wishing you peace,Bev (and Rick) Marquart

In all the years I knew and worked with Claire, I honestly cannot recall her ever saying a mean or unkind thing about another person. When I talked with her after she retired, she would always say with enthusiasm "We had just the BEST group!" That was one of the remarkable things about her Claire--her ability to see the best version of her friends and coworkers even when our best selves were not always on display. So if we truly did have "just the BEST group" it probably had much to do with Claire herself, quietly encouraging us to try to be the people she saw--our better selves. Claire was truly a remarkable person and I will sincerely miss her. My thoughts are with Kay, Vicki, and the rest of her family and friends who undoubtedly feel the same way.

Claire and Dale were lovely people and good friends for many years. We lived in University Acres from 1972 on for a few years, and I remember Claire showing up at the door to meet us, probably soon after they moved in at Lake Street. Later we knew them at First Christian and had many good talks with both. They were both so positive and made such great contributions to the community. We miss both of them. Neil and Peggy

Claires kindness toward ME helped me too be kinder myself. She was always doing the nicest things for others. I will always think of Claire with her cheerfulness and her happy surroundings which she decorated so festively for each holiday and season. She never forgot a birthday. She worried about her friends and family and would always follow up to see how they were doing. I remember the day that she showed up at my front door with a big arm full of flowers. I was recovering from the flu. However, it was Claire who had just gotten out of the hospital!!! Yes, Claire was a true friend and such a special person in so many ways. I will miss my dear dear friend.Erica (Van Every) Stroh
