Obituary of Donna Miller
Obituary
Donna Marie Miller, 81, was born on February 14,1941 to Rueben and Gladys Renz. She passed on January 23, 2023. She had two siblings, Audrey Thoutt (deceased) and Gerald Renz. She was part of the last graduating class from Timnath High School. She met the love of her life, John Miller, on a blind date.
Donna and John married on December 18, 1960. Together, they enjoyed weekend dutch hops, card playing, softball games, fishing & camping trips, and their property in Crystal Lakes. They welcomed two daughters, Sue born in 1961 and Sandra Pantano born in 1962.
Donna worked for and later co-owned Columbine Products. We all remember the fresh pine smell that followed her at Christmas, when wreaths, trees and table ornamentations were being made. As kids, we remember finding treasures in the many rock piles that were broken down for educational cards in spring and summer.
Donna could always be found in the kitchen or yard (weather permitting). And we will miss being able to call Aunt Donna for cooking and baking advice. She always seemed to know how to correct our cooking errors or the "secret" ingredient that wasn't on the family recipe card. She loved cooking for everyone, and we all enjoyed eating what she was making. Especially, if it was Rye bread, Krautburgers, Butter Ball Soup, Dinakuchen, Grebel, freshly made noodles, Kartoffel and glaze, the list goes on.
There were many nieces, nephews, and adopted grandkids that always knew Donna was there, if they needed someone. We all have memories of cooking, Christmas cookie baking, Egg dyeing, sausage making, family gatherings at Aunt Donna & Uncle John's house. It was the automatic place to go to.
Donna lovingly made silk bouquets and wedding flowers for any family member that asked. We can still hear her asking, "What can I help with?", providing it wouldn't interfere with her weekly hair appointment.
Donna is survived by her husband, John Miller, daughters Sue Miller & Sandra Pantano, son-in law Dave Pantano, grandchildren, Jessica Pantano-Saxton & husband Mitch Saxton, Jacob Pantano, brother Gerald Renz, numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Plus, the four-legged grandkids who will miss the sneaked treats!
The family will have a celebration of life for Donna when the weather is warm, and flowers are in bloom.
