Obituary of Paulette Kay Maxwell
Paula Maxwell passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023 after a battle with
cancer. She is now at peace with her Lord and Savior. Paula was born on October
1,1951 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Paul and Bernice Frazier. As a child one of
Paula’s favorite activities was riding horses with her grandfather.
After a short time of living and working in Washington DC, Paula settled in the
Fort Collins area where she started her over 40 year career with Larimer County.
At the time of her retirement a few years ago she was an Assessment Support
Manager for the Office of the Assessor.
Paula had a very strong love of animals of all types. She and her husband, Scot
Maxwell, lived on a small farm in Wellington where they raised highland cows,
llamas, goats, chickens, geese and several dogs over the years that were more like
children than pets.
Paula is survived by her husband, John Scot Maxwell of Fort Collins, CO; her son,
Larry Witman of Fort Collins, CO; her stepchildren, Fiona Maxwell of Waupun, WI;
Ian (Amy) Maxwell of Englewood, FL; Sorrel (Christopher) Tritz of Phippsburg, CO;
Gavin (Jess) Maxwell of Atlanta, IN; her sister Joy (James) Strickland of Clifton, CO;
nephews Roland (Marie) Davis; Jeffrey Davis; niece Sheila (Boyd) Howard. Also,
several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by
her parents, Paul Frazier and Bernice Britt.
Paula’s family would also like to express their gratitude to Paula’s friends who
supported her, especially Kathy Thorton; Pathways Hospice and Columbine West
for the care and support they provided.
