Obituary of Carolyn McGuigan
Carolyn McGuigan passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2023. Carolyn is survived by her husband Patrick McGuigan of Fort Collins, children Jason McGuigan in Plainfield, Illinois, Megan McGuigan in Dunwoody Georgia, daughter in law Michele McGuigan, and three grandsons, Justin, Jeremy, and Joshua McGuigan. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was blessed with numerous family members and close friends. Carolyn was pre-deceased by her parents John and Merrill Skelton and her older brothers Paul Skelton and Stephen Skelton. Carolyn lived a very full and rewarding life enjoying many wonderful travel experiences and volunteering her time and energy to several worthy organizations. She was the best wife a man could ever have hoped to have in his life and will be missed by her many friends and family members.
Carolyn was born on February 7, 1949, in West Covina, California. She attended Edgewood High School and following graduation, entered into service with the Volunteers In Service To America organization where she worked with underprivileged people in both West Virginia and Washington DC. She and her husband, Pat, dated during their high school years in Southern California, and were married in California on February 6, 1971. Company relocations resulted in years being spent in vicinities of Rochester, NY, Chicago, IL, and Fort Collins, CO.
Private services in line with Carolyn’s wishes will be held in the near future at a time well suited for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers and plants, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to Adoption Dreams Come True in Fort Collins, or to the Gary Sinese Foundation. Another option, and one that would be “so-Carol”, is to forego the donations and flowers and instead take someone you love out to lunch. Raise your glass and look up. She’ll be smiling back.
