Obituary of JoAnn Elaine Beaner

JoAnn Elaine Beaner

Tuesday evening, 8-29-23, JoAnn (Jodi) lost her long battle with cancer, passing away peacefully at home, with her family by her side. JoAnn was born to Arthur and Vera Johnson in Edgeley, ND., after a couple of moves the family settled in Miller, South Dakota where she met and married Roger Beaner. The couple and their four children moved to Fort Collins in 1965.

Jodi and Roger were members of St Joseph’s Catholic Parrish until moving south of town and then joining the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parrish upon its opening in 1981, here they remained faithful members.

She had a long career with Hewlett-Packard, first in Loveland and then in Fort Collins. After retiring from HP, Jodi and Roger spent many years traveling in their motorhome, semi-settling for a few years in Custer, South Dakota after opening and operating a small antique store. Once they sold the shop, they were on the road again!

Jodi also made good use of her in home craft room and her crochet hook! She enjoyed dancing and her home was often filled with the country music that she loved, she could be seen dancing round while cooking and cleaning, it is a favorite memory for her children. Jodi was dearly loved and will be missed by her family, who thought the world of her!

Jodi is survived by her children Rex of Fort Collins, Valerie (Bo) Tumlinson of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Andrea (Lennie) Jordan of Windsor, CO. Her grandchildren Alissa Beaner (Fort Collins, CO), Roger Beaner II (Loveland, CO), Kristy Stroup (Deer Lodge, MT), Becky Beaner (Elliston, MT), James Jordan (Cheyenne, WY) and Danny Jordan (Ault, CO) and seven great grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger (2021), her eldest son Mark (2021) and her granddaughter Rachael (2016).
